4 Reasons why you need to have an engagement photoshoot

You just got engaged. You are over the moon and…
 While some may see it as unnecessary, here are 5 reasons why you need an engagement photoshoot;

You get comfy in front of the camera
For most people, being in front of several cameras is a nerve racking experience. So how do you get comfortable in front of the camera? You practice! With an engagement photo shoot you get to pose for photos and find what works for you. A good photographer will also take this chance to observe you as a couple and give you suggestions. If you tend to look down, and create the dreaded double-chin, then you can try a better pose. Not sure what to do with your hands? Your photographer can suggest poses that won’t feel or look awkward. And later, as you have a look at the engagement photos you can also narrow down on shots that you like.  And the ones you should work on; like that goofy smile or the deer-in-the-headlights look.
So on your wedding day you look like a natural.

The photos come in handy during wedding planning
If you will be sending out e-invites via email or Facebook, you will need some romantic photos to go along with your heartfelt words. No need to take new photos. Just pick one from your engagement photos. If you are planning on displaying a slideshow of your photos at your wedding, then you can add the engagement photos to tell your story beautifully. Plus, we all know you will need photos for your profile picture to match your engaged status on Social Media.

Because it’s fun
Wedding planning can be a stressful process. So when you begin to feel overwhelmed by flower options and catering menus, take a break from it all with a fun engagement photoshoot. It will help you relax and remember what really matters…your relationship.  So have fun with it. You could even have a themed photoshoot like this couple did with a picnic-themed shoot.

Create a rapport with your photographer
On your wedding day there will be many intimate moments. As you pucker up to kiss, your photographer might come in for a closeup. When you shed a few happy tears their cameras and eyes will be trained on you. And as you stare into each other’s eyes, guess who will also be there? Imagine a perfect stranger following you around taking photos of you without saying a word. There is a word for it…a stalker.
An engagement photo session allows you to interact with your photographer and get to know more about them. Helping you to feel at ease in front of them…and it will show in your photos.
When you have your engagement photo shoot we would love to feature it on our blog. Need some inspiration? Have a look at this engagement photo shoot.
